The Italian Supreme Court, with judgement no. 20927/2024, stated that the pecorino cheese bearing on the label the words ‘Pastore del Tirso - F.lli Pinna Sapere Sardo - Formaggio Pecorino da Tavola’, constitutes an evocation of the PDO ‘Pecorino Sardo’ within the meaning of article 2 (2) of Legislative Decree no. 297/2004 (containing administrative sanctions in the light of Regulation (EU) no. 1143/2024)
